PLA (Polylactic Acid)

PLA is a biodegradable plastic derived from renewable plants such as corn and sugarcane. 

Glass Transition Zone: 60°C

Common Applications

  • Prototyping

  • Display Pieces

Characteristics:

  • Affordable

  • Post processable

Carbon Fiber

3D printing with carbon fiber is accomplished by printing with PLA, PETG, or Nylon that has been filled with shredded carbon fiber 

Glass Transition Zone: Higher than without Carbon Fiber

Common Applications

  • Aerospace

  • Drone parts

 

Characteristics:

  • Strong strength

  • Rigid

  • Heat tolerant

PETG

PETG is a 3D printable variant of PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) one of the most common plastics in the world

Glass Transition Zone: 88°C

Common Applications

  • Snap Fitting

 

Characteristics:

  • Impact Resistant

  • Semi Ridged

TPU

TPU is good at low temperatures and resits abrasions

Glass Transition Zone: -20°C
